Terms of use
These terms cover the Summit Steps app and this website. By using the app you agree to them.
What Summit Steps is
Summit Steps turns your everyday steps into progress along a virtual version of a real trek. It is for motivation and fun. It is not medical advice, a fitness programme or a guide for walking the real routes: distances and altitudes follow the real trails, but the app does not prepare you for them.
Check with a doctor before changing how much you exercise if you have any health concerns, and pay attention to your surroundings when you walk.
Free plan and Summit Pro
- The Inca Trail is free, with no time limit.
- Summit Pro unlocks every trek and feature. It is a subscription, billed weekly or yearly through your App Store or Google Play account.
- New subscribers get a 3-day free trial. If you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged the price shown when you signed up.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- The lifetime option is a single payment that unlocks Summit Pro for as long as the app is available. It has no free trial and never renews.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
Prices can differ by country and may change. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
Your steps
Progress is based on the step data your phone provides through Apple Health or Health Connect. We can’t guarantee that data is complete or accurate, and progress stored on your phone can be lost if you delete the app or change phones.
Our content and yours
The app, its trek descriptions and its postcard artwork belong to Summit Steps. You’re welcome to share the postcards and story cards you earn. Please don’t copy, resell or redistribute the rest.
Changes and availability
We may add, change or retire treks and features, and we may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version.
Liability
The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, Summit Steps is not liable for indirect losses arising from using it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.
